Over the next two days we walked into a limestone cave hidden inside basalt hills, watched the sun drop into the Arabian Sea at Gokarna, stood under a 123-foot Shiva at Murudeshwar, crossed a mangrove boardwalk in Honnavar, and stared down four waterfalls falling in unison at Jog.
